Salary Range: $18.00 To $21.00 Hourly

Piedmont Metals is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator / Material Handler to support our manufacturing and shipping operations. This position is responsible for safely operating forklifts, lulls, and overhead cranes to move raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished products throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting production schedules, and ensuring shipments are loaded and unloaded safely and accurately.

• Operate forklifts, lulls, and overhead cranes to transport materials throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Move raw materials, finished goods, and production materials to designated locations.
• Sort, organize, and stage materials for production and shipping activities.
• Verify materials are properly identified and stored.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance checks on material handling equipment.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with inventory movement, material handling, and production support tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, and shipping staff to ensure workflow efficiency.

• Forklift operating experience preferred.
• Previous material handling, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, lulls, and overhead cranes.

This position operates in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
