ARMC Women's & Children's Center - Registered Nurse; RN Lactation Consultant

A Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant supports breast feeding initiatives, monitors patient progress, and adheres to evidence-based lactation practices. Working under minimal supervision, this role manages projects and processes within the lactation consulting group and provides counsel to the organization on breast feeding support.

• Reviews breast feeding support plans to ensure alignment with maternal and infant needs.
• Prepares educational materials to enhance breast feeding outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of lactation techniques to serve as a resource and support staff and families.
• Seeks guidance from senior management as needed to ensure effective lactation support programs.
• Manages projects within the lactation group to support overall success in breast feeding initiatives and family-centered care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Required:
  
  Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

• Required:
  
  1 year of experience in breast feeding/lactation support;
  For NICU placement, 2 years of experience in breast feeding/lactation support with NICU or pediatric experience in a hospital setting is required.

• Required:
  
  Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact State Certification by International Board of Lactation Consultation Examiners (IBLCE)
  BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
