AboutThe Role
The Staffing Coordinator / Scheduler is one of our most important and fundamental positions. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating schedules for nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants to ensure adequate staffing and appropriate resident-to-staff ratios.
Scheduler Responsibilities- Schedule available staff and employees according to facility needs and required resident-to-staff ratios.
- Prepare schedules for new employees.
- Complete daily documentation and required forms accurately.
- Track vacation time, absences, weekend make-up shifts, and other scheduling changes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date staffing schedules.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Communicate schedule changes effectively with staff and leadership.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to address staffing needs and coverage.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Reliable and accountable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Computer and scheduling/programming skills.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to comply with departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Previous experience with rotating nursing schedules preferred.
- Are self-motivated, committed, and dependable.
- Take initiative and can work independently without constant supervision.
- Are willing to roll up your sleeves and focus on getting the job done.
- Can work efficiently and remain flexible in a fast-changing healthcare environment.
- Work well with others and value teamwork and collaboration.
- Think creatively and can identify practical solutions to scheduling challenges.
