Responsibilities

Provide support services in costume production for the School of the Arts Theatre & Dance Program, including supervision and management of all activities in the costume shop. Oversee costume‑related materials purchasing, storage, upkeep of inventory, administration of costume rentals/loans, and maintenance of costume shop equipment and supplies. Responsible for completing costume construction and all associated duties for all Program productions, including instructing costume stagecraft labs and training of work‑study students on costume construction.

Manage and oversee costume run crews for productions. Reports to the Associate Director for Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or a related field and two to four years of related experience.
  • Experience in costume shop management and costume construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and train others in the safe and proper use of sewing machines, dye equipment and other related machines and materials.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and execute costume renderings.
  • Proficiency in draping, pattern making, fitting, dressmaking, tailoring, millinery, dye processes and other costume‑related procedures.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working with and/or supervising students.
Pay Range

Anticipated Pay Range: $57,000 – $62,000.

Special Conditions
  • Probationary period may be required.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non‑exempt position, may result in overtime).
  • Background check required.
