This position plays a critical role in ensuring that university events and instructional environments are both technically robust and accessible. The position is housed within University Event Services (UES) and works in close partnership with the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS), which provides strategic guidance related to accessibility compliance and service delivery.

Under the general direction of the Event Production and Technical Manager within University Event Services (UES) serve as the primary point of contact for general video services and technical integration of Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) and American Sign Language (ASL) services in support of instruction, events, and public programming. Oversee accessibility-related event equipment and consult with faculty, staff, and students on their specific needs, considering and leveraging existing room technology capabilities and best practices.

Work independently to collect event information and coordinate technical needs for events requesting recording, live streaming, CART, and/or ASL services. Assist the UES Technical Event Support Coordinator in managing and operating large scale virtual and hybrid events across campus as needed. Use judgment in prioritizing work activities and determining solutions to meet client's event needs. Utilize software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, EMS, Outlook, video editing software, etc.)

and effective customer service, interactive coordination, communication and professionalism to support clients. Maintain technical inventory and make recommendations to promote optimum utilization of services, software, and hardware. Perform general and scheduled maintenance on equipment as needed. Actively reinforce, encourage and participate in initiatives that promote safety first. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and delivering great customer experiences.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Associate degree and two to three years of related experience in hospitality/event services in event production including video recording, live streaming, lighting, and sound systems.

Experience with technical event production on a variety of platforms including but not limited to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and You Tube Live. Experience coordinating or supporting accessibility services such as CART, captioning, or ASL interpreting for events. Knowledge of accessibility best practices for events (e.g., captioning, assistive listening technology, visual access, etc.). Skills with troubleshooting computer systems and how they relate to audio-visual systems and be able to quickly identify and resolve issues at an event.

Effective interpersonal and organizational skills and experience working effectively both within a team and independently.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain
-driver's record check required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Must have the ability to lift 61 lbs. and push/pull 62 lbs., climb ladders and work in inclement weather when outdoors. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and great experience to customers.

Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in supporting at least one multimedia application (Final Cut X, Adobe Premier, iMovie). Experience managing and working with caption encoders and software. Crestron and/or Extron hardware certification. Knowledge of working in an academic environment. Vocational, technical training, or equivalent experience in relevant audiovisual fields highly desirable. Experience using broadcasting/recording equipment such as the New Tek Tri Caster, vMix, OBS, and other equipment or streaming protocols including RTMP, etc.
