The Job Center Specialist I works at the Vermont Department of Labor's Burlington office as the first point of contact in the American Job Center. The role involves welcoming customers, providing one-on-one assistance with job searches, resume development, online applications, and technology support to job seekers and unemployment insurance claimants. The specialist will also maintain customer records, manage reception responsibilities, and connect individuals with workforce programs and community resources to help them overcome employment barriers.
Keyqualifications
- One or more year of experience in customer service, employment services, human services, human resources, or related field
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with computer systems and documentation
- Valid driver s license and access to reliable personal transportation for occasional regional travel
- Patience and commitment to helping others navigate technology and employment transitions
