Position Summary

The Sinclair Information Technology Department is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to join its Business and Public Services Division beginning Fall 2026. This program provides students with a robust, hands-on education tailored to the demands of the modern tech industry, featuring state-of-the-art facilities, experienced faculty, and a curriculum that builds practical skills in cybersecurity, networking, and technical support while offering flexible scheduling, valuable certifications, and strong industry partnerships that connect students with local employers for internships and job opportunities.

The successful candidate will be able to teach across multiple areas of Information Technology, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, and automation. Instructional responsibilities may include courses in network infrastructure and security, cybersecurity fundamentals and advanced topics, including instruction in cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, and advanced Power Shell scripting and automation for systems administration and enterprise environments.

This position requires in-person instruction across all three Sinclair campuses, including Dayton, Centerville, and Mason, and the faculty member is expected to deliver hands-on, applied instruction aligned with industry standards, certifications, and current workforce needs, while supporting student success in both traditional and online learning environments.

This tenure-track role typically requires at least a 40-hour work week which includes a course load of 15 credit hours per semester, and a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition to these responsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to perform related duties including serving on department and college committees, serving as an ambassador for the program, and mentoring and coaching students.

Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend assignments. The position reports to the Chair/Program Administrator.

All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost’s Office and are commensurate with education and experience.

This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restricts employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.
