Summer Opportunities Academics & Enrichment (SOAR)

Para educator - 2026

The Burlington School District believes a diverse and culturally proficient faculty and staff are pivotal to the creation of a strong learning environment free of inequities. Accordingly, the Burlington School District's goal is to provide every student with an educational experience enhanced by the professional contributions of culturally competent representatives of different races, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, age, and sexual preference.

The S.O.A.R. summer program is seeking experienced and energetic para educators to carry out programs designed by the teaching staff, manage behavior, support theme-based enrichment activities and field trips throughout the 5-week summer program.

Please make sure you provide clear evidence of the following criteria in your application.

  • High school diploma plus at least 2 years of additional education
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in education or related field
  • Ability to commit to work all 5 program weeks, July 5th - August 3rd
  • Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols and PBIS
  • Training and experience with English Language Learners
  • Evidence of strong connection with students and families
  • Understanding of summer learning and previous experience in a summer learning program.

Dates and Position

Hours:

Orientation Date: 6/25 (Tentatively), 1 day

Program Dates:
June 29th - July 30th, M-Th, 5 weeks.

Hours:

32 hours/week, daily schedule 8:45 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday.

Position Type: Seasonal Part-Time

Salary: upto $24 Per Hour
