French Teacher

Job Description

Christ the King School, a Catholic elementary school serving students in grades Pre School through 8th grade, is seeking a part‑time (0.5 FTE) or full‑time (1.0 FTE) French Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of Catholic education and dedicated to fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth in young learners.

• Plan and deliver standards‑based French language instruction appropriate to elementary grade levels.
• Foster student engagement through interactive and communicative teaching methods.
• Integrate cultural awareness of French‑speaking countries into the curriculum.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to support a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school‑wide goals.
• Maintain a classroom environment consistent with Catholic values and school expectations.
• Participate, as appropriate, in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development.
• Support the religious mission of the school through participation in liturgies, prayer, and faith‑based activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written French.
• Prior teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and language acquisition.
• Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
• Practicing Catholic preferred, in accordance with diocesan policy.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
