Join a team of providers making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Provide behavioral treatment and SEL instruction for children with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities. We currently have Interventionist positions open in both the INCLUSION program and The Baird School.

The INCLUSION Program offers intensive, individualized support to children aged 5-14 (grades K-8) with significant emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. Services are provided in local public schools and at our center-based tutorial program.

The Baird School offers an alternative educational environment for children aged 5-14 (grades K-8) whose needs cannot be adequately met in a traditional educational setting due to social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. Students engage in SEL, behavioral programming, and academic instruction to develop skills and strategies that will enable them to succeed in the least restrictive educational environment available to them.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and/or group support to assigned children in accordance with individual treatment goals
  • Teach social emotional learning (SEL)
  • Establish positive, therapeutic relationship with children, and counseling as needed
  • Collaborate with educational, Human Service professionals, and caregivers
  • Use UKERU and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to maintain a safe environment and to de-escalate a crisis
  • Have effective oral/written skills, and the ability to perform autonomously

Requirements:

  • 1 year combination of experience, skills and/or education
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Full-time 217 day annual calendar including:
    School year (175 days) with paid days off during school vacations
  • 4 week summer program
  • 2+ weeks in-service for ongoing professional development
  • AFSCME Union (dues will apply)
  • Starting at $22.75 - $23.68/ hour
