Extended School Year 2026

Burlington School District is seeking Speech/Language Pathologists to provide supports in an inclusive summer school environment for students at risk and with disabilities. Speech Pathologists will provide services in the classroom, in small groups, and individually as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
  • Licensed in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in closely working with, providing direct instruction to students with disability.
  • Experience in communicating and maintaining positive relationships with parents and guardians of students with intensive needs.
  • Ability to commit to work all 5 program weeks.
  • Experience or ability in co‑teaching with regular education teachers.
  • Ability to train and supervise para‑educators.
  • Experience in working with ELL students who have language development needs (desirable).
  • Knowledge of best practices in engaging and motivating students and managing student behaviors.
  • Previous experience in Extended School Year programming (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Dates and Position Hours

Employment

Start Date:

June 25, 2026

In‑Service Date: (TBD), 1 or 3 Days

Program Dates: June 29, 2026 - July 30, 2026

Work Hours: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Students attend 9‑12 PM.

Location: K‑5th grade programming will be held at CP Smith Elementary School and 6‑12th grade programming will be at HMS.

Salary: up to $40 per hour
