About This Role
The Burlington Children’s Space is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to work as part of a co‑teaching team. Each preschool classroom has a total of 12 children and three teachers (two full‑time and one part‑time). We are looking for a full‑time teacher.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development is required. A State License in Early Childhood Education is preferred, but not necessary.
What You’ll DoThis is a 40‑hour, full‑year position. Co‑teachers plan and implement curriculum based on the children’s interests and development. Co‑teachers complete assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold, working in partnership with Head Start. The classroom team meets weekly for planning and at least monthly to develop individualized care plans and implementation strategies with the Howard Center, EEE or VFN and Head Start staff.
All classrooms participate in parent engagement activities using the Strengthening Families Framework, including family dinners, open house, curriculum night, and family‑led lessons.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development.
- Knowledge of Reggio Emilia, NAEYC accreditation, and child‑centered instructional practices.
- Experience working in a therapeutic child‑care setting is a plus.
Experience with reflective consultation, care‑plan creation, independent office time, and cluster (professional development) meetings.
