Admissions Counselor
Serve as admissions counselor within the framework of the University's enrollment targets and consistent with the mission and annual objectives of the admissions office. Oversee a geographic recruitment territory and conduct activities to support the recruitment of academically qualified and diverse students. Conduct large and small group presentations, visit high schools, attend college fairs, and represent the University of Vermont on and off campus.
Communicate regularly with prospective students and parents. Review applications and make admissions decisions. This position is campus-based with potential for hybrid environment at specified times of year.
Bachelor's degree and two to four years' related experience required. Demonstrated multicultural competency and a commitment to recruit a diverse student population required. Effective communication skill, both oral and written, required. Basic computing skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, and familiarity with relational student databases) required. Ability to travel outside Vermont required. A valid driver's license is required.
Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish or Mandarin.
$52,000 to $54,000
Non-standard work hours required, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
