Position: Part Time After School Program Staff - Mt. Mansfield School District

- After School Programs located in Mt. Mansfield School District

Brewster Pierce Memorial School
- Huntington, VT

Smilie Memorial School
- Bolton, VT

Reports To: Head Coach/Site Leadership

Schedule: Part-Time (Before & After School Programs, School Breaks, and Summer Programs)

Monday-Friday: 2PM-6PM

We are looking for candidates who are available to work all five days of the week for the full duration of the shift. We cannot accommodate partial shifts.

Pay: $32/hour

Position Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? As a Resilience Coach, you will help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop life skills, and thrive.

This is an active, hands-on role that combines mentorship, enrichment, recreation, and academic support. We are looking for positive, energetic team members who enjoy working with school-age children and creating meaningful connections every day.

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Support

  • Build positive relationships with students and create a welcoming environment.
  • Serve as a role model by promoting respect, responsibility, and resilience.
  • Support students through positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure student safety and well‑being at all times.

Program Delivery

  • Lead engaging enrichment, recreation, and team‑building activities.
  • Facilitate homework help and academic support sessions.
  • Participate in games, fitness activities, and outdoor play.
  • Help students develop social‑emotional and leadership skills.

Program Operations

  • Assist with daily program setup and cleanup.
  • Support student check‑in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
  • Follow all company policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

State

Qualifications:

Candidates must be 20 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following requirements:

  • Hold a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 3 Certificate
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services AND 1 year of experience working with groups of kids in 3rd grade or under
  • A certificate of completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
  • A Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont AND 1 year of experience working with groups of kids in 3rd grade or under
  • Successful completion of at least 21 college credits with an early childhood or school aged focus AND 1 year of experience working with groups of kids in 3rd grade or under

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
