Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Operations Manager
Overview
Project Manager – Power Electronics / Data Center Systems
The Project Manager owns the execution of power-electronics–based projects supporting data center applications, from order intake through delivery and handoff. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk while coordinating across engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and customers. This is a highly execution-focused role that requires technical fluency to manage engineering-heavy programs effectively — without overburdening engineering teams unnecessarily.
The ideal candidate can understand, translate, and triage technical complexity while driving disciplined delivery in a fast-growing, dynamic environment. This is not a purely administrative project management role.
- Project Managers are not deeply involved in pre-sales
- Pre-sales involvement is limited to schedule and cost review
- Contract negotiation is handled by the commercial organization
- Once an opportunity matures:
- A formal risk review is conducted across Finance, Delivery, Engineering, and Sales
- An internal project kickoff is held to align on scope, schedule, and ownership
- From kickoff forward, the Project Manager owns delivery execution
- After project delivery, the customer is transitioned to the Service organization
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Own project delivery from order intake through execution, delivery, and handoff
- Define, manage, and control project scope, schedule, budget, and risk
- Ensure delivery aligns with contractual commitments and customer expectations
- Maintain predictable, on-time project execution
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead internal project kickoffs and drive alignment across engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and sales
- Act as the primary point of coordination across internal teams
- Ensure clear ownership, accountability, and communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Technical Coordination
- Act as the technical translator between customers, engineering, operations, and supply chain
- Understand and communicate technical concepts at a systems level to support effective decision-making
- Triage technical issues appropriately, engaging engineering only when necessary
- Prevent unnecessary engineering distraction while maintaining technical rigor
- Risk, Change & Communication
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
- Manage change control, scope adjustments, and escalations as required
- Communicate clearly and proactively with customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide regular project status updates and executive-level visibility
- Proven project management experience in technically complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects where engineering execution is central to success
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments with multiple stakeholders
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
- Required (Conceptual / Systems Level)
- Ability to discuss and understand:
- Inverters
- Rectifiers
- DC-DC converters
- Power electronics systems and architectures
- Comfort managing projects involving power electronics and hardware-centric development
Deep design expertise is not required, but technical fluency is essential.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience supporting data center infrastructure projects (AI workloads a plus)
- Background in renewable energy or adjacent power systems (considered a complementary talent pool)
- Exposure to manufacturing environments
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background (PM team includes both engineering and non-engineering profiles)
- Existing industry or customer network that could support future business growth
- Delivers projects on time and within scope and budget
- Manages technical complexity without overloading engineering teams
- Maintains strong cross-functional alignment and accountability
- Communicates clearly and builds confidence with customers and internal stakeholders
- Anticipates risk and addresses issues before they impact delivery
