Background & Purpose of the Job

We are seeking a Project Team Lead to lead and execute capital projects within our dairy manufacturing operations. This role is critical for the end-to-end design and delivery of capex projects at the St Albans and Waterbury sites, aligned with the site and global agenda. The team leader ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership:
    Manage end-to-end execution of industrial projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder

    Collaboration:

    Work with engineering, operations, quality, and procurement to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Risk Management:

    Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain timelines and cost targets.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Drive innovation and efficiency in project delivery using best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Leadership & Delivery:
    Lead improvement projects in a fast-moving environment with many stakeholders. Responsible for cost estimating, option analysis, business cases, design critique, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover with minimal supervision. As a member of the factory leadership team, you will lead safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Cross-Plant

    Collaboration:

    Participate in cross-plant improvement teams; partner with plant manufacturing, CI, corporate engineering, and union workforce; support root cause analysis on process and utilities issues.
  • Culture & Change Champion:
    Introduce new Ways of Working to the Engineering community to deliver best value without compromising core values. Lead the transformation while upholding the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.

Factory Supply Chain Managers and Supervisors;
Internal Unilever SMEs; 3rd Party Engineering Providers;
General Contractors; OEMs;
Quality, Safety, and WCM teams.

What You'll Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing industrial or capital projects in food or dairy manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy processing systems, utilities, and plant infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (PMP certification is a plus).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $88,600 to $133,000. Magnum Ice Cream Company considers a wide range of factors in compensation decisions.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
