Asset Coordinator
Posting Summary The Asset Coordinator supports the University's Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) by creating, updating, and maintaining accurate equipment and asset records in alignment with the University's Strategic Asset Management Plan and asset‑specific management plans. The position assists in the development and enhancement of preventive maintenance data, supports IWMS reporting and configuration tasks, and conducts field verification work needed to ensure reliable asset data.
Working under the direction of the IWMS Administrator, the Asset Coordinator provides operational and technical support to Facilities Management units, including data collection, data integration, dashboards, and basic end‑user training. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistency and data quality across the IWMS, enabling Facilities Management to make informed, data‑driven decisions. This position upholds UVM's Our Common Grounds values.
The role may involve operation of a university vehicle.
- Associate's degree in a related field, or one to two years of experience in asset management.
- Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain) and ability to drive UVM vehicles.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and email.
- Ability to interpret specifications and blueprints.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information clearly.
- Previous experience in a university or higher education environment.
- Experience with field data collection or preventive maintenance systems.
- Experience with software tools used in asset management, including IWMS platforms or comparable systems.
- Knowledge of codes, regulations, standards, and practices applicable to facilities and asset management.
55,000 - 70,000 annual salary
Special ConditionsA probationary period may be required; occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required (if non‑exempt position, may result in overtime); background check required for this position.
