Description

Watershed Consulting is seeking a Water Resources Scientist to join our team of talented professionals specializing in stormwater management planning and design, water quality investigations, and geospatial mapping and analysis. Our team consists of hydrologists, water quality scientists, engineers, and GIS professionals that provide our federal, state, municipal, nonprofit, and private sector clients with a collaborative and innovative approach to solving water quality issues.

The Water Resources Scientist will support a broad range of initiatives related to water quality planning, monitoring, modeling, analysis, design, and permitting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for watershed and stormwater management planning, modeling, design, and permitting
  • Perform fieldwork to support water quality research, design, monitoring, sampling, and compliance
  • Organize, maintain, and schedule field monitoring and sampling equipment
  • Perform Geographic Information System mapping and analysis
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Understanding of concepts related to hydrology, water resources planning, water quality, and environmental statistics
  • Experience in utilizing Geographic Information Systems for mapping and analysis
  • Familiarity with Vermont stormwater regulatory framework
  • Familiarity with Vermont clean water initiative non regulatory framework
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis
  • Desire and ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions and in varied terrain
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and technical writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related Geoscience field. 1+ years professional experience within a water resources field preferred.

Watershed Consulting offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, a comprehensive benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and advancement. Salary range $60,000 – $75,000 commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.
