About the Role
We are looking for a Power Plant Control Engineer (PPC) to join our Controls & Grid Integration team. Your focus will be on delivering grid integration and power plant control engineering for solar, storage, and hybrid sites during the project execution phase. You will interact with customers and grid operators to gather requirements, design control solutions, conduct performance tests, and submit reports.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze requirements for Grid integration, including the applicable Grid Code, of solar, storage, wind and hybrid power plants
- Escalate new requirements to internal product teams for implementation
- Design the flow for new control applications
- Contribute to the mathematical modelling of the Power Plant Control Algorithms
- Prepare the project specific control narrative
- Commission the projects power plant controller
- Conduct Grid Code Compliance tests (usually remote), including data analysis and reporting
- Develop application studies for new grid integration and power plant control installations
- Be the main technical interface to Grid Operators and client specialists
- Provide remote troubleshooting help to on-site engineers
We are looking for a proactive, communicative team member comfortable assisting customers and managing multiple projects. You thrive in a fast‑changing context and are driven by continuous learning.
- MS/BS in Electrical or Automation Engineering with technical background in power system engineering
- 2 years experience as SCADA Engineer
- Knowledge of principle of operation of RES (Solar, Wind, Storage or Hybrid sites)
- Good knowledge of digital and analog signals
- Experience with Industrial protocols (MODBUS, DNP3, OPC, etc)
- Experience with PLCs
- Basic knowledge of Local Networks
- Experience with Linux OS, use of terminal and shell
- Experience in modelling of power control systems in Digsilent, PSSE or PSCAD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
