As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you'll perform diagnostic testing and play a vital role in ensuring high-quality laboratory operations.
- Perform testing in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, and other lab sections
- Process specimens and ensure accurate and timely reporting of results
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Perform quality control and support quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with method validations and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Train new staff and support students during clinical rotations
- May perform phlebotomy as needed
- Collaborate with providers and healthcare staff to support patient care
- Full-time (80 hours bi-weekly)
- Varied shifts, primarily days
- Includes rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
Education
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related biological or chemical science with accredited clinical training consistent with CLIA high-complexity testing requirements.
Certification
National MLS certification (ASCP preferred) required within 6 months of hire.
Experience
Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
