Pediatric Echocardiography Technologist

The pediatric echocardiography technologist performs specialized cardiac ultrasound procedures to evaluate pediatric patients with congenital or acquired heart conditions. The role requires independent scanning capabilities in critical care settings and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pediatric echocardiograms, including fetal echocardiography, with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform scans in neonatal, pediatric ICU, and other critical care areas, ensuring high-quality imaging.
• Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results and provide detailed reports.
• Maintain all equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness for optimal performance.
• Adhere to safety and infection control guidelines during patient interactions.
• Document all procedures thoroughly in the electronic medical record, including work history and patient details.

Qualifications:

• Hold an ARDMS or CCI credential in pediatric echocardiography (RDCS-PE or RCS-PE).
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of independent pediatric echo scanning experience.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of complex congenital heart disease, surgical repairs, and pediatric cardiac anatomy.
• Be confident performing scans independently in critical care environments.
• Have current AHA BLS certification and EKG recognition.
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is required.
