Job Overview

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Core duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage, delivering messages, and providing guidance to guests.

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients (25%).
• Greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor, using guest last names and salutations of the day; practice proper phone etiquette (10%).
• Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed, and opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests (20%).
• Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities of the facility and main attractions in the area; delivers messages, items or guest amenities as requested; shuttles guests to approved locations (10%).
• Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival; issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; consistently completes and maintains ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles (35%).
• Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed; consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) – required.
• Valid driver’s license for the state of employment.
• Minimum one (1) month related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend standard English; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations to guests, clients and employees.
• Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide with units of American money; understand 24‑hour and military time; understand rates applicable to time passed.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission and perform parallel parking is highly desirable.

Standing or sitting for extended periods; walking, running and handling or feeling objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally or up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. The majority of work is outdoors in extreme heat or cold conditions.
