The Harbor vale in Burlington is the newest hospitality offering by Westport Hospitality, the team behind Hotel Vermont, the nationally recognized Condé Nast Traveler “Best Hotel in New England.” As Vermont’s first Autograph Collection hotel and only the third in New England, The Harbor vale promises to be “Exactly Like Nothing Else.”
The Harbor vale is seeking a Front Desk Associate to join our newly reimagined, one-of-a-kind property located in downtown Burlington, Vermont, set on the shores of Lake Champlain. The Harbor vale’s story is inspired by the wonder and sense of place that Lake Champlain provides; the adventure of fresh experiences, the opportunity to reminisce about fond memories while creating new stories to share.
The Front Desk Associate is at the heart of the guest experience at The Harbor vale, shaping each stay from the moment of arrival to departure. Whether welcoming guests at the start of their journey, assisting throughout their stay, or offering a warm farewell, the Front Desk Associate creates a seamless, personalized experience that reflects the spirit and hospitality of The Harbor vale.

Position Overview:
The Front Desk Associate at The Harbor vale will bring their experience of exceptional service and ability to celebrate the extraordinary guest connections to our team to enhance what this property is known for.
In this role, you will engage in a manner that reflects the individuality of The Harbor vale. You’ll cultivate a culture of warmth and excellence, creating memories that embody a sense of wonder, a hint of nostalgia, and a spark of adventure.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver warm, genuine hospitality by creating welcoming, personalized, and memorable experiences for every guest
- Provide a seamless and efficient check-in and check-out experience, ensuring accuracy, comfort, and attention to detail at every step
- Manage phone, email, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and care, assisting guests with reservations, cancellations, and special requests
- Serve as a knowledgeable local ambassador with a passion for Vermont, offering thoughtful recommendations and concierge-style service
- Embrace the role of host by fostering an inviting atmosphere where every guest feels valued and at home
- Build authentic connections with guests, recognizing returning visitors and personalizing their stay whenever possible
- Resolve guest concerns with empathy, urgency, and a solutions-oriented mindset to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Collaborate closely with housekeeping and team members to ensure rooms and services consistently meet high standards
- Anticipate guest needs and go above and beyond to exceed expectations at every opportunity
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with both guests and colleagues, contributing to a positive, efficient, and service-driven team environment
Position Requirements:
- Must be available for flexible schedules, including days, evenings & weekends, and holidays
- Has 1 year of customer service experience.
- Must be able to lift #25 repeatedly during a day to assist with guest luggage when needed.
- Must be able to stand throughout shift
We offer competitive wages and benefits with a base hourly rate of $ 18.00 –$20.00
