Facilities Technology Manager
Serve as the primary technical expert responsible for ensuring the interoperability, reliability, and performance of software systems critical to Facilities Management operations, including the University's Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS), and its connection with enterprise resource planning system (ERP). Lead major system integrations, ensures accurate transmission of financial and operational data between platforms, and provides expert-level technical troubleshooting and programming support.
Working under the general direction of the Executive Director of Facilities Management, provides direct or functional supervision to Facilities Management's technology employees. This position is the University's primary point of contact for all IT-related technical matters within Facilities Management. Execute major configuration changes in the IWMS, develops new integrations, may need to write and maintain code (including SQL, Python, and related languages), and ensures the consistency and data integrity required to support the University's Strategic Asset Management Plan and operational needs.
Responsible for Facility Management's hardware planning, documentation, budgeting, and implementation.
Collaborate with Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) to align institutional technology practices, while maintaining a primary focus on Facilities Management software systems.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in technical or software engineering role.
- Managerial or team leadership experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex software issues and implementing system integrations.
- Ability to make major configuration changes within enterprise software systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
The role may involve operation of a university vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications- Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain) and ability to drive UVM vehicles.
- Experience working in a university or higher education environment.
- Experience with IWMS, other IWMS platforms, or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with enterprise financial systems such as People Soft.
- Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical technical systems.
$90,000 to $115,000
Special ConditionsA probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position
