ResponsibilitiesProvide a broad range of technical support for COM Users, including faculty, staff, and students. Support areas include Active Directory accounts, desktop operating system and software, network access, internally developed application use, desktop and laptop hardware, mobile devices, public computers, video conferencing, and audio/visual technology. Deliver services through the service center, which provides just‑in‑time support for walk‑in and phone users, and the technical support office.
Address complex issues requiring follow‑up calls, research, and coordination with outside team support from the tech support offices. Prioritize identifying and troubleshooting system or network issues and efficiently communicate to the system administration and development teams. Assist in rolling out new technology initiatives and projects and support and train end users in their use.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two to three years’ experience in technology support required.
- Knowledge of the Windows platform, computer hardware and peripherals required.
- Proficient with MS Office and other office support applications required.
- Basic networking knowledge and understanding of a client/server network required.
- Ability to troubleshoot and support Mac computers desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range $27.00 - $30.00/hr
Special Conditions A probationary period may be required. This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions. Background Check required for this position.
