Advertising/Posting Title Solid Waste Recycling Specialist Posting Summary
Collect and haul recyclable materials, refuse, organic material, and surplus property at university locations. Support work to include cleaning and light maintenance of recycle team equipment and snow removal as required, provide furniture/equipment moving services as requested. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the shop and in the field. May input/retrieve work-related data using appropriate desktop applications. Operate University vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School Diploma and valid driver's license and driver check required. Ability to operate and safely maneuver large trucks in congested areas required. Ability to read basic written instructions and complete written route sheets and forms required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions (ability to move or roll heavy containers up to 100 lbs. and able to work with no lifting restrictions;
ability to lift 50 lbs. and up lift 100 lbs. with co-worker. Employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing specific job tasks required. Ability to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and great experience to customers required.
Desirable Qualifications Anticipated Pay Range $21.50-$24.00/hour Other Information Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required FLSA Non-Exempt Union Position Yes, UE ($18.50 minimum hourly rate)
