Custodian - Burlington

Description and Essential Functions

Full-time position responsible for the daily cleaning of GMT vehicles and facilities.

• Cleans inside and outside of buses and other GMT vehicles, as needed
• Cleans and maintains facilities and equipment as directed including outdoor facilities and grounds
• Cleans and maintains bus shelters
• Washes, refuels and performs light maintenance on GMT vehicles
• Performs other duties as assigned

A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

  A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The minimum age for all employees in this position is 21. A clean driving record is preferred and the ability to pass standard background checks, a DOT medical physical, and a pre-employment drug screen are required.

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodations. Knowledge of basic methods, materials and tools used in bus cleaning. Must be able to work independently, ability to follow oral and written instructions, ability to perform basic non-mechanical repairs on maintenance equipment (lawn mower, snow blower, floor cleaner).

  :
  Starting wage is $22.29 per hour for candidates without a CDL, with a CDL, the starting wage is $23.29 per hour
• Schedule
  :
  The schedule for this position is 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
• Time Off
  : 8.67 hours of paid time off accrued per pay period; equivalent to 5+ weeks off.

  : 100% paid health care coverage including medical, dental, vision, and prescription. 100% paid premium for Short-Term Disability by GMT. After 10 years of service, 100% paid premium for Long-Term Disability by GMT.
