Position: Ski Area Lead, Night Snow making Manager (25-26 Season S00611)

The Ski Area Lead supervises and supports the Ski Area Associate Team Members working in their area of expertise.

This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The hiring range for this position is $19.94-$24.40 per hour. Some hours are eligible for shift differential for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support the Snow Making team.
  • Ensure team members perform work assignments according to established procedures, practices, and policies, and are properly equipped.
  • Manage Operations’ equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, requisition, and replacement. Report to the Snow Bowl Manager on equipment needs.
  • Report safety hazards, violations, and personnel issues to the supervisor.
  • Provide ongoing training to employees. Communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's mission.
  • Perform all duties safely and professionally, following Middlebury College and departmental policies.
  • Assist with Ski Area operations at Snow Bowl and Rikert as needed, including supporting base lodge operations, lift operations, snow removal, event setup and cleanup, truck loading/unloading, and trash removal.
  • Assist Ski Area staff as necessary.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma; on-the-job training in procedures and policies.
    • Previous experience in ski area Mountain Operations helpful; supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate expectations and provide feedback constructively.
    • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
    • Flexibility to work overtime, shifts, and holidays.
    • Driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
    Physical Demands and

    Working Conditions:

    Frequent lifting of 20-30 pounds, occasional lifting of 50 pounds, and pulling up to 100 pounds. Outdoor winter environment with extended periods on foot in rugged terrain.
