Overview
The Distribution and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the efficient receipt, organization, and distribution of food and related products in support of the organization’s food assistance programs. The role follows established policies and procedures, ensuring that food is received, stored, and distributed accurately and safely while providing excellent customer service to clients. The Coordinator also works closely with volunteers to support daily operations and maintains organized, clean, and efficient distribution and receiving areas.
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and record incoming food and related products.
- Organize and store items safely according to food‑safety standards.
- Distribute food to clients and partner agencies accurately.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient distribution and receiving area.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and volunteers.
- Collaborate with volunteers and staff to support daily operations.
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to providing respectful, inclusive service to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the service area.
