Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical ICU position at a large academic teaching facility in Vermont, requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and CRRT/ECMO/vent skills.

• Medical ICU (MICU) setting at a large, academic teaching facility
• Overflow neuro patient population in addition to core MICU cases
• Complex patient cases including multi-system disease, COVID, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, IABP, and ECMO
• Manages multiple titrating drips and critical vent care; required to start IVs
• Epic EMR is used; recent experience required
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
• Block scheduling is not available
• Floating required to SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4
• 26-week contract
• Provides critical care nursing to a medical ICU patient population with overflow neuro cases
• Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays
• Candidates are encouraged to ensure their vehicle is equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is required for consideration

• Active VT or Compact RN license (or NY license with proof of pending NY licensure)
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
• CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Large, academic teaching facility experience required
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and multiple titrating drips required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
• At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor (one within the past 6 months, one within the past year of employment)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Reliable personal transportation required; public transportation is not accessible in this area
