Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a large academic teaching facility in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Responsibilities- Work setting is a large (500+ bed), academic teaching hospital Emergency Department
- 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, Monday through Sunday
- Minimum of every other weekend required; schedule must remain flexible to meet unit and patient care needs
- No block scheduling allowed
- Epic EMR experience required
- Personal vehicle strongly recommended — public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires are advised from November through April
- Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
- All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained
- No prior travel experience required if the candidate has worked in multiple ERs and 500+ bed teaching facilities
- Active RN license — VT or Compact license accepted; NY license accepted with proof of pending licensure
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC must be completed or proof of scheduled class provided prior to start; NIHSS required prior to start)
- Preferred certifications/training: CEN, ENPC, MOAB, Pro Act, or other de-escalation training (e.g., CPS)
- Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required — candidates with experience in 500+ bed teaching facilities and more than one ER may be considered without prior travel experience
- Large academic teaching facility experience required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
- At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required (one from the past 6 months, one from within the past year)
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and trauma level required for consideration
