Job Details- Position: Travel CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room / Open Heart Surgery

- Contract Duration: 6 weeks (Travel RN, W2)
- Shift: 10-hour days (06:45–17:15)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirements: 1–2 weekday 12-hour calls (19:00–07:15), plus one full weekend of call every 5 weeks
- Work Week: Monday–Sunday
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,000–$3,160

- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience with competency in cardiovascular/open heart procedures — CVOR RN or cardiac OR nurse
- Core CVOR Skills: Able to scrub and circulate cardiovascular surgery cases (perioperative nursing skills required)
- Travel Nursing Experience: Prior travel RN experience required (preference for experienced CVOR travel nurses)
- Academic Hospital Experience: Experience in a large academic/teaching hospital required
- EMR: Epic experience within the past 2 years (required) — Epic documentation proficiency
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be on file at time of submission)
- Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred (cardiovascular OR certification is a plus)
- Scheduling: Flexibility to meet unit and patient-care needs; no block schedules
- Work History: Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; complete work history details required for submission
- Transportation: Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (limited public transit); all-season/snow tires recommended Nov–Apr
- Provide perioperative nursing care for CVOR/open-heart cases, ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and adherence to cardiac surgery protocols
- Perform both scrub and circulating duties for cardiovascular procedures
- Support complex cardiac surgery workflows in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and the interdisciplinary OR team
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic (EMR) — clear perioperative charting and case documentation
- Maintain OR readiness: equipment, instrumentation, supplies, and sterile processing for cardiac cases
- Participate in scheduled weekday and weekend call rotations and be prepared for in-call responsibilities
- Float to other OR suites as needed (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, etc.); if floated, circulate only
