Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a large academic teaching facility in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience, Epic proficiency, and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities- Works in the Emergency Department (ED) of a large (500+ bed), academic teaching hospital
- 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
- Schedule runs Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
- Minimum of every other weekend required; schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
- Flexibility with scheduling is expected
- Epic EMR is used; recent experience required
- Preferred certifications include CEN, ENPC, MOAB, Pro Act, or other de-escalation training such as CPS
- Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- Candidates must be able to account for any employment gaps exceeding 90 days
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is required for consideration
- Active RN license in Vermont (VT) or a Compact state; NY license considered with proof of pending licensure
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
- TNCC must be completed or proof of scheduled class provided prior to start; NIHSS required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
- Large (500+ bed) academic teaching facility experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required, unless candidate has experience in multiple large (500+ bed) teaching facilities
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
