We are seeking experienced

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced RN or LPN Nurse Managers to join our team at Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington, Vermont. As a Nurse Manager, you will provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily activities of licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and facility policies
  • Follow the nursing model to promote holistic, resident-centered care
  • Ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies and procedures
  • Participate in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Assess residents for changes in condition, notify physicians and families or representatives, and document accordingly
  • Transcribe physician orders and carry out orders as written
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered and monitor for adverse effects
  • Perform wound treatments as ordered and document changes appropriately
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate transportation needs
  • Provide nursing leadership and guidance to nursing personnel assigned to the unit
  • Provide direct care, including colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, and other skilled nursing services as assigned
  • Conduct rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and staff are performing their assigned duties
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure residents' needs are fully addressed
  • Participate in management team meetings to discuss census changes, resident status, care needs, complaints, and concerns
  • Assist with evaluating nursing staff performance and implement disciplinary action according to facility policies and direction
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Vermont RN or LPN license
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current CPR certification
  • Prior long-term care experience preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
