Overview
The Assistant Manager will need great customer service skills as they will be required to field customer questions and complaints when necessary. This position will aid the Waterfront & Parks Campground & Beach Manager in overseeing all the city beaches and water access points as well as the Campground. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for scheduling beach staff at North Beach.
The Assistant Managers will aid the Waterfront & Parks Campground & Beach Manager in the training of seasonal employees for North Beach Park as well as the Water Quality Team. The Assistant Manager will hand out daily assignments and check on staff to ensure all jobs are being completed. The Assistant Manager will assist the Waterfront & Parks Campground & Beach Manager in Cyanobacteria testing and checks as well as recording all beach closings.
The Assistant Manager is required to learn the Campground software and will need to aid the Waterfront & Parks Campground & Beach Manager with daily money tallying and bank deposits.

- Pay Grade: $23.75 - $26.73 Hourly
- Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week
- Good time management skills
- Knowledge of the City of Burlington money handling process
- Enforce and observe park and City rules
- Answer phones, make reservations, field customer questions & must be good with computers as well as good customer skills
- Assist campers with their sites, cleaning bathrooms, wrapping firewood, and general lawn maintenance
- Be able to produce weekly employee schedules
- Great customer service skills
- Be able to work alone or in a group
- Have the ability to train new employees
- Assist beach customers as needed, empty trash and recycling barrels, general lawn maintenance, cleaning bathrooms & parking cars in the field
- Be able to and eager to learn new skills
- Must be able to learn about and spot Cyanobacteria
- Must be able to learn and field questions about water quality based on BPRW’s water testing
Job Requirements

- Previous beach work experience a must
- Previous money handling a must
- Previous supervisory experience a must
- Previous scheduling experience
- 20 years old and older
- Must have a driver’s license and must be able to pass a motor vehicle check
- Operation of a City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver's license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver’s license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways. Position also requires the ability to be covered under the City’s vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business

- Must be first aid certified or able to become first aid certified before work begins
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather
