Quality Control Specialist
The Quality Control Specialist supports Facilities Management by evaluating the effectiveness, consistency, and quality of maintenance, custodial, and operational services across campus facilities. This position ensures that buildings are maintained to established standards, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides data-driven insights to strengthen service delivery, staff performance, and overall operational excellence. As Facilities Management's Quality Control Specialist, the incumbent will assess, investigate, analyze, and provide oral and written reports to relevant bodies on concerns and incidents that occur under a variety of university policies and procedures, as well as state and federal law.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, environmental services, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Three to five years of experience in facilities operations, quality assurance, custodial or maintenance oversight, inspections, or a related field.
- Experience in a higher education, healthcare, or similarly complex multi‑building environment preferred.
- Knowledge of building systems, custodial and maintenance best practices, and industry standards for facility care.
- Strong understanding of operational workflows and service delivery in facilities management.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and accurately document findings.
- Skill in complaint resolution, root‑cause analysis, and developing customer‑centered responses.
- Ability to analyze processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, codes, and quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, complainants, and leadership.
- Proficiency with digital inspection tools, CMMS platforms (UVM currently uses Planon), productivity software, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain meticulous records.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism.

Anticipated Pay Range75,000 to 85,000
Special Conditions- A probationary period may be required.
- Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non‑exempt position, may result in overtime).
- Background Check required for this position.
