Research Program Manager Posting Summary
The Research Program Manager will play a central role in supporting the scientific, operational, and administrative functions of the Madsen Epidemiology and Data Science Laboratory. Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), this position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating research operations, managing complex data workflows, and supporting dissemination of scientific findings. This role requires experience in research administration, data management, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
The Program Manager will serve as a key liaison among investigators, trainees, and external collaborators, ensuring efficient execution of research activities in a complex, data-intensive environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, clinical research, data science, or related discipline).
- At least 4 years of experience in clinical, epidemiological, data science-related, or translational research.
- Demonstrated experience in research administration, project coordination, or data management.
- Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and research data tools (e.g., REDCap).
- Proven experience in data analysis and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., STATA, R, SAS, or SPSS).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively to both scientific and non‑scientific audiences.
- Master's degree (e.g., MPH, MS in Epidemiology, Clinical & Translational Research, or related field) or equivalent research experience is preferred. Candidates in current Master's programs will be considered as well.
- Familiarity with NIH grant processes, including RPPRs and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with large scale, high dimensional (e.g., omics) datasets and cloud-based data environments or similar advanced computing clusters.
$65,000 - $75,000
Special ConditionsA probationary period may be required, contingent on continued funding. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, background check required.
