Job Overview
Provide specialized technical assistance for scientific research projects designed to understand pathways that lead to lung fibrosis and lung cancer. Maintain and manage multiple transgenic mouse strains, including breeding and genotyping. Conduct experiments involving lung administration of compounds, lung perfusion, lung lavage, and isolation of DNA, RNA, and protein. Embed tissues in media, section tissues for staining, and work with primary cells derived from healthy or diseased human lungs.
Perform other routine laboratory experiments and prepare regulatory paperwork as required.
- Maintain and breed transgenic mouse strains; perform genotyping.
- Execute animal experiments (lung administration of compounds, lung perfusion, lavage).
- Isolate DNA, RNA, and protein from lung tissues.
- Embed tissues, section for staining, and collaborate on histological analyses.
- Work with primary human lung cells for experimental studies.
- Perform routine lab tasks and support overall research objectives.
- Submit required regulatory and safety documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field.
- At least two years of laboratory experience.
- Experience working with small animals.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team-oriented mindset.
Anticipated Pay Range: $24.50 – $29.00 /hr
Additional InformationProbationary period may apply. Position contingent on continued funding. Position is not eligible for telework due to essential functions. Background check required.
