Henry's Diner (under new management), established in 1925, is a historical diner in downtown Burlington, VT. We offer good old-fashioned diner fare, breakfast all day and Greek food: gyros, Spanakopita, Greek salad, and platters. The atmosphere is old school from the front to the back. Family-owned and operated. Open 6 am to 2 pm daily. No nights! Weekends are a must. We offer a Simple IRA contribution retirement plan and two weeks paid vacation for qualified employees.
We are seeking a Kitchen lead who has experience cooking & handling food in a high-volume, casual dining restaurant. Responsible for the preparation, presentation, and execution of all menu items. Must be able to follow health guidelines to ensure safe and sanitary food practices.
Requirements:- Must have a minimum of 3 years of cooking experience. The breakfast experience is a plus.
- Able to work on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you can be seen by the public.
- Capable of lifting up 20 lbs at a time on a regular basis.
- Cook food to correct temps, including meats & eggs.
- Good communication skills and team building.
- The candidate is fully trained you may be responsible for some opening shifts.
- Reference and background checks are required.
- Must be available to work on the weekends.
