Position Details

Assist in the smooth daily operation of Henderson’s Café, located within the UVM Bookstore. Perform opening or closing duties on a set schedule, routinely prepare coffee and specialty drinks, operate a cash register, maintain Café systems and displays, supervise student employees, and provide excellent customer service to customers and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • An understanding of basic retail practices and knowledge of computer operations required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and training, fostering a collaborative multicultural environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with retail sales and operations desired.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced restaurant or café very desirable.
Pay

Anticipated Pay Range: $18.50–$19.10 per hour.

Other Information

Must be able to work some weekends, evenings, and occasional university holidays with occasional overtime.

Special Conditions
  • Probationary period may be required.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work required (may result in overtime).
  • This position is ineligible for telework due to essential functions.
  • Background Check required.
  • FLSA Non‑Exempt Union Position. Yes. UE ($18.50 minimum hourly rate).
