Responsibilities

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all facility and building Refrigeration Systems, including pharmacy, laboratory, nutrition services, patient refrigeration and freezer units, as well as ice/water machines. Completes specialized repairs and preventative maintenance in areas of technical expertise. Provides installation and advanced support for Temp Trak temperature monitoring systems throughout the MCHV campus. This position is responsible for overseeing all refrigeration equipment owned and operated by the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Including but not limited to small appliances, heat pumps, Chiller units and small unitary cooling units.

Education

High School (GED) education and a Type S C3 License and Natural Gas Installers Certification required. A State journeyman's license in one of the following :
Plumbing , Electrical, Carpentry or Chief Engineer (NILUPE) may be considered. In lieu of licensure a comparative, cumulative number of years’ experience may be considered in a specific specialty trade. Examples of such are HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, and or experience in excess of 7 years in a mechanical, electrical , carpentry or plumbing trade. A universal CFC or Refrigerant Recover certification is mandatory.

Must possess a valid Vermont driver’s license and safe driving record.

Experience

5 years’ experience in refrigeration trade, including repair and maintenance, and controls. Familiarity with remote temperature monitoring systems recommended.
