Position Title
Carpenter ($24-$32/hour)
Reports ToSuperintendent
Position SummaryConstruct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Install millwork carpentry, doors and other specialty items.
Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs.
- Construct and install structures and fixtures.
- Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic and other materials.
- Construct building framework, including walls, floors and door frames. Help erect, level and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Work on staging or above ground.
- Taping experience is a plus.
- Perform non‑carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demolition, floor prep, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness in work environments and occupied spaces.
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers.
- Work in a safe, OSHA‑approved manner.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Provide a strong work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks.
- Show willingness to learn new tasks.
- Share knowledge and help train others.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance.
- Communicate and collaborate clearly with the team.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Hiring Requirements / Preferences- Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry.
- Experience with metal and wood framing.
- Drywall skills.
- Millwork and casework installation.
- Doors, frames and hardware installation.
- Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Proficient at reading blueprints, or ability to learn.
- Minimum tools: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level and driver index.
- Strong organizational skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work.
- Experience with computers and technology is a plus.
- OSHA 10 training preferred, but will be provided.
- Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; arrive early to start at 7:00 am and be prepared to work until 3:30 pm.
- Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule.
- Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned.
