Concrete Technician
Aerotek is hiring immediately for concrete technicians! This role focuses on concrete repair and related construction activities for large parking garage structures, including deck repairs on garage slabs and structural connectors. You will perform a variety of hands-on tasks such as joint sealant replacement, overhead soffit repairs, caulking, form building, rebar tying, hot-applied epoxy work, and controlled demolition using chipping guns and jackhammers.
The position is ideal for someone with outdoor concrete construction experience who is comfortable working with hand tools, following strict safety practices, and contributing to high-quality structural repair projects.
- Perform deck repairs on garage slabs and structural connectors for large parking garages.
- Carry out joint sealant replacement and caulking to ensure proper waterproofing and durability.
- Complete overhead soffit repairs and other structural concrete restoration tasks.
- Build and dismantle concrete forms in support of repair and construction activities.
- Tie rebar and assist with reinforcement placement according to project specifications.
- Apply hot epoxy materials and other repair products in a safe and controlled manner.
- Conduct controlled demolition using chipping guns, jackhammers, and other tools as required.
- Execute masonry and concrete carpentry tasks related to structural repair and construction.
- Perform waterproofing work to protect structures from water intrusion and environmental damage.
- Use required hand tools such as hammers, pliers, tape measures, pry bars, and speed squares accurately and safely.
- Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE at all times, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with the crew, follow direction from supervisors, and support project timelines.
- Adapt to varying schedules, including potential second shifts, weekend work, and four 10-hour day schedules as needed.
- Work effectively in outdoor and semi-enclosed environments, including hot summer weather and shielded garage areas.
- At least 1 year of outdoor construction experience in concrete, including specific exposure to caulking, patching, or controlled demolition.
- Hands-on experience with concrete repair activities such as joint sealant replacement, soffit repairs, and caulking.
- Ability to perform masonry and concrete carpentry tasks safely and accurately.
- Experience with waterproofing techniques and materials in a construction environment.
- Proficiency using basic hand tools, including a 20 oz hammer, pliers, a 25-foot tape measure, a 12-inch pry bar, and a speed square.
- Capability to operate chipping guns and jackhammers for controlled demolition work.
- Strong awareness of construction site safety practices and consistent use of PPE.
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification within 10 days of starting if not already held.
- Reliability in maintaining regular attendance and working full shifts, including potential overtime.
- Ability to work in hot outdoor conditions and in semi-enclosed garage environments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience on large structural or parking garage repair projects is beneficial.
- OSHA 10 certification upon starting is highly desired.
- Experience in mechanical repair or general labor on construction sites is an asset.
- Comfort working on varied tasks such as rebar tying, form building, and epoxy application.
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs and locations within the regional market.
- Interest in pursuing additional training and certifications to advance within the trade.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and follow-through on instructions and safety guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, VT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
