Responsibilities
- Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client’s Individual Support Agreement (treatment plan).
- Implement the support and crisis plans (utilizing Therapeutic Options training), in collaboration with the greater treatment team.
- Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition.
- Utilize sound judgement and maintain a calm demeanor during crisis.
- Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support.
- Provide needed personal and/or medical care.
- Three to four years of experience in human services or a combination of education and experience.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Routine lifting.
- Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.
- Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday.
- Experience with de‑escalation techniques.
- Committed to a trauma-informed approach.
- Person-centered.
- Varied schedules including weekend and evening hours.
- Travel within Chittenden County.
- Residential homes located in Burlington, Colchester, and Essex.
- Non‑exempt.
- AFSCME Union (dues will apply).
- Starting at $22.75 an hour.
