Tenant Advocate
Informs and advocates for tenants regarding their rights and responsibilities as tenants. Gives advice, information and counseling on rental housing issues and provides appropriate referrals to tenants with housing issues. Serves as an information and training resource for social service providers and other agencies statewide. Provides public advocacy regarding tenant issues.
This is a part time hybrid position located in Burlington, Vermont

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Ability to deal effectively, efficiently and respectfully with clients served by CVOEO and with a broad diverse range of individuals and organizations in carrying out all assigned functions. Ability to quickly acquire and maintain a solid base of technical knowledge related to landlord/tenant laws, and rental housing health and safety codes.
Understanding of the needs and problems facing low income tenants; supportive of social justice and general rights for tenants. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability of uphold safety standards.
