minimum qualifications laborer positions require applicants must be at least 18 years old, legally licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle and have knowledge of safe and proper use of string trimmers, mowers, tools, materials, and equipment in the care of facilities and grounds maintenance. Ability and willingness to perform labor intensive activities and able to lift 50 lbs. A high degree of self-motivation, a strong work ethic, good organizational skills, the ability to work safely and effectively alone or as part of a crew, and the ability to interact positively with the public.

Minimum education, training and experience and special requirements: eighth grade or equivalent. Grounds maintenance related experience preferred. Laborers must be able to pass a pre-employment fit for duty test. Salespersons and concessionaires must be able to operate a cash register and concession equipment. Knowledge of the game of golf is helpful for golf course salespersons & laborers. Camp counselors must be trained in red cross cpr and first aid.

Employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background investigation and maintain good working relationships with city officials and employees as well as the general public. In addition, employees must possess a valid driver’s license to drive city vehicles.

• park/forestry/recplex/golf course laborers: $13.00–$15.00/hr.
• recplex concessions: $10.00–$12.50/hr.
• camp counselors: $10.00–$15.00/hr.
• golf course salesperson: $12.50–$15.00/hr.
