Build Relationships. Grow Businesses. Shape Communities.

Nestled between the Cascade Mountains and the sparkling waters of the Salish Sea, Bellingham and Burlington are communities built on hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and lasting relationships. If you're the type of banker who thrives on meaningful conversations instead of transactional meetings, enjoys helping local businesses reach their next milestone, and believes every handshake is the beginning of something bigger, this opportunity deserves your attention.

We're searching for an accomplished VP Commercial Relationship Manager who can confidently grow a commercial loan portfolio while becoming a trusted advisor to business owners across Northwest Washington. This is far more than a lending role. It's an opportunity to become a strategic partner, problem solver, and community ambassador who helps businesses flourish while building a rewarding career.

If cultivating relationships energizes you more than chasing quotas, and you enjoy creating customized financial solutions that genuinely make a difference, you'll feel right at home here.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day brings a new opportunity to make an impact. You'll:

  • Develop and expand a profitable commercial loan portfolio through business development and networking.
  • Build lasting relationships with business owners, executives, developers, and community leaders.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and credit structures to recommend sound lending solutions.
  • Structure commercial loans tailored to each client's unique goals and financial needs.
  • Partner closely with Treasury Management, Credit Administration, Private Banking, and Retail teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
  • Serve as the primary financial advisor for your clients, identifying opportunities beyond lending, including deposits, cash management, and other commercial banking services.
  • Monitor portfolio performance while proactively managing credit quality and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with lending policies, regulatory requirements, and internal credit standards.
  • Represent the bank throughout the community by attending networking events, industry organizations, and local business functions.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive developments, and economic conditions impacting commercial clients.
What Makes You Successful

The strongest Commercial Relationship Managers don't simply sell loans. They create confidence.

You're someone who enjoys learning about businesses, asking thoughtful questions, uncovering opportunities, and delivering solutions that help clients succeed today while planning for tomorrow.

You know that trust isn't built overnight. It grows through responsiveness, integrity, expertise, and consistently delivering on your promises.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of commercial banking or commercial lending experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing commercial relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, and financial statement interpretation.
  • Experience with C&I, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate, and commercial lending structures.
  • Excellent business development and networking abilities.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance standards, and credit policy.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms and commercial banking software is preferred.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity

This organization believes banking is still a relationship business. You'll have the autonomy to build your portfolio, the support of experienced credit and operations teams, and leadership that values collaboration over bureaucracy.

Here, your success isn't measured solely by production numbers. It is reflected in the businesses you help grow, the communities you strengthen, and the trusted partnerships you cultivate over time.

You'll join a team where initiative is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and…
