The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the repair and maintenance of the facility. This position may also provide temporary support to other departments during special assignments.
Primary Responsibilities- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Minor repair of plumbing fixtures (toilet, sink, urinal, lawn sprinkler systems and small diameter (2inch or less) piping).
- Responsible for confirming outside doors are locked after operating hours.
- Minor repair of electrical fixtures such as outlets, light switches, light fixtures, light bulb replacements.
- Minor maintenance of mechanical equipment such as rolling stock (forklift, vehicle, pallet jack) HVAC filters, door mechanisms, powered tools, etc.
- Structural repair to the building including floor, wall, ceiling, trim, drywall, painting, roof, and gutter repair.
- Landscape and grounds care maintenance including mowing/trimming lawns, property line brush control, weed control, lawn sprinkler system maintenance, pressure washing, and trash pickup.
- Custodial support for floors, bathroom and kitchen fixtures and supplies, offices, windows and trash.
- Rodent and insect monitoring and control.
- Support specific warehouse and production tasks as needed.
- Other maintenance tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Basic ability to use electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and repair tools for facilities maintenance.
- Basic use of landscaping/grounds care hand tools and power equipment.
- Demonstrates safe practices when performing facilities related maintenance tasks.
- Read and understand equipment operation/maintenance manuals and diagrams.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Must have a basic understanding of how things work (facilities related)
- Basic computer functions in MS Office and online searches.
- Basic math skills used in carpentry (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimal, and fractions).
- Understands use of chemicals for painting, grounds care, and janitorial cleaning.
- Basic safety rules for wearing PPE while performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
- Willingness to learn and/or improve maintenance tasks.
- Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to utilize/view a PC and/or monitor.
- Must be able to lift between 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable and able to work at heights of 30 feet.
