Position Overview
Hexcel is a global leader in advanced composites manufacturing, producing carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs, and additive manufactured parts. We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Burlington, WA location. The role includes an initial day shift or modified schedule for training, after which it will transition to 2nd shift. A shift differential of $1.75 per hour applies when working 2nd shift.
The summary pay range is $35.43 – $40.79 per hour.
- Maintain the integrity of the facility by following applicable specifications and standards and using in‑kind components, materials, and practices for repair and service work.
- Work safely to solve problems and contribute to overall plant efficiency.
- Analyze problems, disassemble and repair components, tools, and equipment.
- Use fabrication skills to make repairs and improvements to team areas and production equipment.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to internal customers.
- Work overtime, on‑call, and call‑back as needed to support plant operations.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair components on electrical equipment up to 480 V.
- Work in a team environment to reach consensus decisions within company guidelines.
- Utilize JSA, lock‑out/tag‑out, and other safety tools and personal protective equipment to perform job assignments safely and efficiently.
- Support plant safety and quality objectives.
- Participate in plant/team lean and organization activities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; technical‑college degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of related experience in two or more of the following skill areas: fabrication, welding, industrial controls, electrician, industrial electrician, plumber, machinist, mechanic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems electrician.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of mills, lathes, drill presses, and other machining equipment (preferred).
- Strong machining, welding, and fabrication skills (preferred).
- Experience in repair and fabrication of industrial equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of precision machines, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration desired.
- Familiarity with, and ability to install, troubleshoot, and program industrial control systems such as PLCs preferred.
- Training in electronic component troubleshooting and repair preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety precautions, operating and maintenance instructions, technical manuals, and procedure manuals.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, push/pull 40 lbs sustained, and 65 lbs for short periods.
- Willingness to work in a team‑oriented, safety‑focused environment.
Long walking throughout the day, periods of standing, crouching, and kneeling; vision required for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception; must be physically able to lift 50 lbs and push/pull 40 lbs sustained or 65 lbs initial for hands‑on tasks.
