Our client is a global leader in advanced composite materials supporting the commercial aerospace, defense, and space industries. Their products are utilized on many of the world's most advanced aircraft, and they are committed to delivering exceptional quality through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their Burlington, Washington manufacturing facility. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Suppliers, and Customers while helping drive quality improvements throughout the manufacturing process.

Position Summary

The Quality Engineer will serve as a key member of the Quality organization with an initial emphasis on supplier quality, product nonconformance investigations, and cross‑functional problem solving. This individual will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve overall product quality.

As the role develops, the Quality Engineer will also gain exposure to customer quality activities, supplier audits, and quality system initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate product and supplier quality nonconformances
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities utilizing 8D (or similar methodologies)
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal cross‑functional teams
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Support supplier quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in internal quality audits and assist with customer and third‑party audits
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and inspection plans
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve quality performance
  • Analyze quality trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support implementation of AS9100 quality requirements
Qualifications
- Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or another related technical discipline
  • Minimum two years of Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing
  • Experience performing root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- Preferred
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience with in another regulated manufacturing industry (chemical processing, medical device, advanced manufacturing, etc.)
  • AS9100 experience
  • Supplier Quality experience
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma
  • Experience supporting audits
  • Statistical analysis experience
